Solution for a Dress

A year ago, I made a beautiful dress with an embroidered material my daughter had left here. I appliqued leaves around the collar and it really looked great, but fitted me just right. This year, it was way too tight and I didn't have any idea what to do with it, until I saw this picture of the beautiful dress. I folded the dress so that I could cut the skirt into four parts all the way to the waist and hemmed them. Now I can wear the dress over a skirt and it looks like the dress in the picture and it is not ruined at all.

I could not believe it has been a whole month since I saw Avatar! The whole movie is still so vivid in my mind...the landscapes still wonderful in my mind... still inspiring ideas.....I guess the brain is wonderful in the way it preserves what we love a lot!

Today I went to see AVATAR and I loved it. It is the most wonderful movie I have ever seen, both in content and the whole artistic composition of it. I love trees and dragons and this movie had a lot of both. It was a real pleasure to see the landscape of Pandora and gave me so many inspirations for my art stuff, both in painting and in the needlework.. I make landscape quiled wall hangings and this movie was a feast to the landscape looking eyes. There were such wonderful new forms in both fauna and flora. My son guessed right that I will want a copy of the movie to look up details when I start working with all the inspirations I got. I have got to admire the mind of James Cameron who envisioned all this wonderful world and all it had in the movie.
The big huge tree was beyond even my imagination which has been filled with tree images all my life. That was the most wonderful tree I have ever seen. This is one movie I wouldn't mind seeing several times!
